After last year’s exciting award-winning (the Pure Passion Award for LOVE POTIONS and a Melissa Nathan Comedy Romance Award for HEAVEN SENT - so I now have two fabulous crystal trophies on the mantelpiece and I stroke them and squeak with pride on a daily basis), ceremonial red carpet, posh frock extravaganza, I felt that my writerly life had reached its zenith – but no. This year has been a whirl of “lights, camera, action!” – because, yes – I’m on the telly! I’ve filmed a series of television advertisements for The Writers Bureau. I have never had so much fun in my entire life and the results can be seen on umpteen terrestrial and satellite channels plus a fair smattering across the internet. Since completing the Writers Bureau course, I’ve had 18 novels published - so, if you have aspirations to become a writer please visit their site – they changed my life and I can’t recommend them highly enough. I’ve also attempted to overcome my technophobia by writing Bucolic Frolics - a blog-of-sorts… If you’re interested in reading irregular ramblings about my life (real and writerly) please have a look at it and, dragging myself into the 21st century, I’m now also on Facebook and have a Facebook Fan Page too. These are some recent (and I’ve left out the less charitable ones) reviews for my books: “As cosy as a goose-down duvet and bursting with sparkle and joy…
Christina Jones is a wonderful writer…” Jill Mansell My new book – MOONSHINE – will be out in paperback in January 2010. It’s a follow-on to the mad-village/practical-magic hocus-pocus in HUBBLE BUBBLE, SEEING STARS, LOVE POTIONS, HEAVEN SENT and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, but it also stands alone so you don’t need to read the others first – although I’d love it if you did… MOONSHINE is the sixth in my magical romantic comedy series set in a cluster of Berkshire villages, published by Piatkus/Little, Brown. This time the theme is wine-making (I had so much fun with the research!), but there are also a couple of unlikely romances and more than a few rural shenanigans. It’s the story of newly-single Cleo Moon and her life-changes when she moves into a caravan in the hamlet of Lovers Knot, becomes involved in winemaking for the local Harvest Festival, and meets the drop-dead-gorgeous and achingly upper-class Dylan Maguire. I also write short stories and serials for magazines, and allegedly amusing articles for newspapers. As always, I’d love to hear from you about the books, or writing generally, or the cats, or even life, love and the meaning of the universe… Last revised 5 November, 2009 .
